MOTAT Trip - Term 2

In term 2 room 22 learnt about 'Simple Machines'. We had fun making moving vehicles showing different types of simple machines like a wheel and axle, levers etc... Students also tested their vehicles on a variety of ramps. We ended our topic with a trip to MOTAT. Our Simple Machine Educator Teresa showed us around her special classroom. The students enjoyed the hands on activities and a ride on the MOTAT tram.

Last Monday 27 March, room 22 along with all the senior school visited the Auckland Zoo to learn more about NZ Endangered species.  We learnt about our native birds, forests and predators.  As students we have been given the job of being 'Guardians of the Forest'. To protect our forests so our wildlife can still be around for us to enjoy for many years to come.

Welcome to 2017

Room 22 has 31 students in our class and our teacher is Mrs Parker. This term we have been learning about 'Relating to others'. We have looked at working together with other kids in our class and in the school.

We are planning a trip to the Auckland Zoo in week 9. The students will be learning about which NZ native animals are endangered or becoming endangered e.g: Kiwi, Yellow-eyed Penguin etc... The students will spend the day there, watch this space.

Hi my name is Ravneel and I'm one of the authours for our room 22 class blog.

This term we are learning about the weather and will be going on a trip to Totara park next Thursday and there will be posts so look out for that. 

Also we have a compass and map work this Thursday

so check it out.  It's about us learning how to use a compass when needed and how 

to use a map.  Today we learnt how to measure from point to

point. We also learned how to use the compass points. I hope you see our blog

every day so you can see the fun we have.

Hi my name is Urvish, I'm one of the editors for room 22's classroom blog.

Our classroom is very creative in what they do, some artwork will be displayed soon.

My favorite subject is Maths because I like problem solving.

This Thursday we have map & compass work to go onto our blog page.

Today we learnt about 'Fact and opinion' and in maths we learnt compass and map co-ordinates.

HELLO, MADE IT!

   Finally, our first post! Still learning to navigate this, but we're on.  

Room 22 will be learning about the 'Weather' as our inquiry topic for term 4.

We're also planning a trip to Totara Park to use our skills of map 

reading and compass use with Counties Manukau Orienteering.
